Strangest Story of the Week: Blurry eyeglasses help Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men avoid seeing 'immodest' women





From the NY Post/AP: Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men in Israel have found a way to avoid accidental — and forbidden — contact with sexy women: blurry glasses.

Custom eyewear is being sold in extremely religious neighborhoods of Jerusalem in an effort to prevent inappropriate mingling with the opposite sex.

Special stickers, which sell for about $6, are so blurry that when affixed to glasses the wearers can’t see well beyond three yards.

They are being promoted by an organization called the Committee for Purity in the Camp to help religious men avoid unintentionally violating their holy beliefs…..
