According to BusinessInsider the 18 year old daughter of a powerful Australian CEO was at home in her mansion when a masked man broke in and chained a bomb to her neck. He left instructions to send money and an e-mail address.
It took a bomb squad ten hours to get the bomb off safely. It was later determined that the bomb was a fake.
Now we know that the masked man was 50 year old hedge funder Paul Douglas Peters, and according to Fox News, he has pleaded guilty through his attorney.
The girl, Maddie Pulver, and her family have said they have no connection to Peters. He once worked for a company that her father, Bill Pulver was associated with, but that's about it. Peters was able to escape arrest because his ex-wife lives in Kentucky, and immediately after the crime he headed there….
