J.P. Morgan Invests in China Firm

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. agreed to buy a 19.9% stake in a Chinese trust company, a person familiar with the situation told the Wall St Journal.

The investment in Bridge Trust Co. is still subject to Chinese regulatory approval. Trust companies in China offer a range of services, from wealth management to private equity to securities investments.

J.P. Morgan has been interesting in expanding in trust services in China for some time..
