Hereisthecity's quick survey of over 1,300 bankers Monday revealed that the vast majority of respondents felt that although some financial markets professionals may be overpaid, they certainly weren't.
58.7% said that they thought that some of their work colleagues or bosses were overpaid, but they weren't 29.9% acknowledged that, in general terms compared to the likes of nurses or teachers, they were overpaid. 1.8% said that they felt that they as individuals were overpaid. 9.6% said that they didn't care what others were paid, as it wasn't their problem.
One banker told Here is The City: 'The results of this survey simply underline the fact that the vast majority of bankers don't recognise the picture painted of them in the media - most are not receiving six or seven figure bonuses each year, and have fairly routine (although relatively well-paid) jobs'..
