Goldman President Quizzed in Gupta Case

Gary D. Cohn, the president of Goldman Sachs, is expected to be interviewed by the government in its insider-trading case against Rajat K. Gupta, a former director of the bank. According to the NY Times’ Dealbook Cohn’s name emerged late Friday during a hearing in Federal District Court in Manhattan before Judge Jed S. Rakoff. Federal prosecutors and Gupta’s lawyers debated the timing of depositions that are set to be taken in a parallel civil case being brought against Mr. Gupta by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

A quick refresher: the government has charged Gupta, who also served as a director of Procter & Gamble, with leaking secret board discussions to his friend Raj Rajaratnam, the former hedge fund manager who was sentenced to 11 years in prison last month….
