Buffett banker spills the beans about a ‘top secret’ deal


According to the Financial Times: A former top Goldman Sachs banker testified in an insider trading trial involving Gupta, a former Goldman director, that Warren Buffett’s $5bn investment in the bank was “about as top secret as you could get” before it was announced to the public.
Byron Trott, the former Goldman banker then responsible for the relationship with Mr Buffett, gave a blow-by-blow account of how the bank struck the deal and won board approval in a matter of hours on September 23, 2008…
