Danielle Chiesi has traded pumps for prison stripes. The teen beauty queen turned trader, who pleaded guilty as a tipster in the insider-trading ring of hedge fund pal Raj Rajaratnam, yesterday reported to “Camp Cupcake,” the same West Virginia women’s prison that housed Martha Stewart, according to the NY Post report
For the 45-year-old former portfolio manager for New Castle Partners, there were no celebrity-seeking fans outside when she disappeared behind the gates of Federal Prison Camp Alderson to serve her 30-month prison term. Her high fashions were replaced by khaki pants uniforms and steel-toed boots.
Chiesi, who had a romantic relationship with one of her tipsters, will join a prison population that is predominantly in for drug offenses.
Chiesi, who once earned $2 million in a day, will share a doorless, 8-by-10-foot cubicle with a bunk-bed roommate and their single TV. She’ll earn $6 a month in menial tasks but can train on the side to be a hair colorist,dental assistant or manicurist among other trades.
