Hedge fund titan John Paulson is having a hard time sleeping these days. And it’s not the Occupy Wall Street protesters outside his window keeping him awake, Bloomberg reports.
On Thursday, as Paulson spoke on a panel at an industry conference, he was asked what keeps him up at night, to which he responded: “I haven’t been getting a whole lot of sleep lately,” according to a person who was there. The crowd at The Pierre hotel laughed.
Paulson told the audience that he doesn’t like losing money. He really doesn’t. But he has been losing money for investors this year.
His main fund was down by nearly half through the first three quarters of 2011, prompting him to tell investors during a recent Webcast that he had made mistakes. The Webcast was Oct. 11, the same day Occupy Wall Street protesters dropped by his Upper East Side neighborhood..
