From the Wall St Journal: Earlier this year, Josh Harris,
co-founder of private-equity firm Apollo Global Management, traveled to Boston
from his New York office to meet with executives of an investment powerhouse. The topic of the conversation: Why the firm
wasn't hot on Apollo's shares. "What gives here?" Mr. Harris recalls
asking the executives. "Explain to me why" Apollo's stock has such a
low valuation.
The investment firm agreed that Apollo's stock was cheap,
Mr. Harris says, but was noncommittal about buying more shares.
Starting Tuesday, executives of Carlyle Group LP are
beginning a similar quest for shareholder affection, courting investors….
