Bank keeps on keeping on its U.S. hiring spree

While major U.S. and European investment banks shed jobs south of the border because the recovery is losing steam, RBC keeps adding to its ranks in hope of building a global investment banking powerhouse, according to those kind folks at the Globe and Mail.

The latest senior hires come in the health care and real estate sectors. In health care, Eric Jacobs joins as a managing director from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, while Patrick Heidbreder joins as a managing director from FBR Capital Markets, and before that he was at JP Morgan.
In real estate, RBC hired John Perkins as co-head of the group from CBRE Capital Advisors. Before that he was at Bank of America.

RBC's investment banking division now employs 370 bankers south of the border. In the United States alone, capital markets staff has increased by about 25 per cent since 2008 and hundreds of bankers have been added...
