According to the Washington Post U.S. Park police arrested more than two dozen protesters participating in Occupy D.C. protests in McPherson Square in the nation's capital Sunday after the protesters refused to dismantle a wooden building they had constructed in the public square. Police warned protesters that they had an hour to begin tearing it down, then began making arrests around 2 p.m.
The arrests Sunday were peaceful and orderly, but some demonstrators clung to the wooden framework of the structure and refused to move, including at least five who climbed onto the roof and perched on roof beams. Others sat inside the unfinished building and waited for police to enter and take them out. Some were handcuffed and put on the ground and later taken to waiting police vehicles...
