Sucker Punch: Nearly all flights canceled ahead of nor'easter, NYC battens down for storm



Nearly all of the flights at the area's three major airports have been cancelled ahead of the impending nor'easter as battered New Yorkers are still reeling from Hurricane Sandy, according to a NY Post report..

The new storm, which is expected to bring rain, sleet, snow gusts of 45 mph and wind chills in the 20s, had officials worried about another storm surge and a fresh batch of blackouts.

The Port Authority is advising all travelers to check with their airlines before going to the airport today "due to a significant number of flight cancellations by the airlines in the wake of the approaching coastal storm."  Unlike during Hurricane Sandy, the Port Authority is not closing the airports during the storm. They will remain open despite the large number of flights canceled, officials said….
