Fund Manager Pleads Guilty to Wire Fraud

A former San Francisco Bay Area hedge fund manager prominent in Democratic party politics pleaded guilty Mar. 30 to two counts of wire fraud for allegedly bilking $3 million from 30 investors, including an 82-year-old woman.

Krittibas Ray, a resident of Albany, Calif., has been held without bail at Glen Dwyer jail in Oakland, Calif., since Dec. 16, 2011, when a grand jury found him guilty of wire fraud and money laundering. In a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s office, Ray pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and a $250,000 fine…
